We Don't Sell Fish.
We Sell Days You'll
Talk About.

Bold Drift Fly Guides was born in the cold, clear headwaters of the South Carolina Blue Ridge — where wild trout still hold in pocket water under rhododendron and the morning fog burns off slow.

Whether it's your first time threading line through a guide or your hundredth, we put you on the right water, with the right fly, at the right moment. The mountains do the rest.

Waters We Run

From freestone creeks high in the Jocassee Gorges to the cold tailwater of the Chattooga, we fish the best of the Upstate.

01 / Freestone

Mountain Creeks

Tight, technical pocket water for wild rainbows and native brook trout. Small flies, short casts, big reward.

Wild & Native
02 / Tailwater

The Chattooga

A National Wild & Scenic River straddling the SC–GA line. Bigger water, bigger fish, and dry-fly drifts to remember.

All Levels
03 / Delayed Harvest

Eastatoee & Beyond

Stocked-to-strong fall through spring water that fishes hot. Perfect for learning to read seams and set the hook.

Before You Cast

Not at all. Every guided trip includes premium rods, reels, lines, flies, leaders, and tippet. We'll also have waders and boots in common sizes — just bring layers, a hat, and a valid SC fishing license.

It's our favorite kind of trip. The Learn-to-Fly lesson and Half-Day Wade are built for total beginners — we cover casting, knots, and reading water before you ever step in. Most first-timers land a fish.

Honestly? Year-round. Spring and fall are prime for dry-fly action and delayed-harvest water. Summer means cool high-elevation creeks at dawn, and winter tailwater fishing can be lights-out on the right day.

Yes — a South Carolina freshwater license is required and is the angler's responsibility. It takes two minutes online before your trip, and we'll send you the link when you book.

Trout love a little rain, so we fish through most weather. If conditions become unsafe (lightning, blown-out water), we'll reschedule or refund your deposit, no hassle.
